Do you ever find yourself thinking that a motorized bike would be really cool but you have some questions? Well we have answered a few commonly asked questions to get you started.
1. Can I pedal the bike without the engine?
Yes the bike can be used as a normal bike and actually needs to be pedaled a short distance to start the engine. You would hold in the clutch to disengage the engine while pedaling, once you release the clutch it engages the engine and you would use the throttle to control the speed of the bike. Once the engine is engaged you would not need to pedal.
2. Where should I take my bike to get serviced?
Motopsychos505 can help service any bikes in the NM area. If you are not in NM Motopsychos505 offers phone support and video help for any service questions you need. We will provide you with the time, product and help for any service needed.
3. Do I need a license to ride a motorized bike?

It would depend in which state you lived in, please check the motor vehicle manual for your state. In NM motorized bicycles are considered bicycles and you do not need a license or to register your motorized bike.
4. What are the differences between a 2 stroke engine and a 4 stroke engine?
2 stroke
1. fuel/air goes in and mixes
2. ignites and fumes go out exhaust
- usually double the power (half amount of strokes/time for 1 cycle)
- simple design/easier to fix
4 stroke
1. fuel and air goes in
2. mixes
3. ignites
4. fumes go out exhaust
- more economical but
- more parts than a 2 stroke
- harder to maintain and take care of http://tune.pk/video/5048589/2-stroke-amp-4-stroke-cycle-engines
5. How long does it take to install a kit on a motorized bike?
If you are installing a kit yourself it does require a little mechanical knowledge, time and tools. It typically takes an average of 8 hours when starting out. It takes Motopsychos505 about an hour and half due to experience. When you order a kit from Motopsychos505 we will provide detailed instructions and phone support for any questions you have along the way.
6. How do I mix the oil and gas?
The engine will need a high mixture of 2 cycle synthetic oil with gas.
The ratio is 16:1 which is 8oz of synthetic 2 cycle oil to 1 gallon of gas. During this time the excess oil that is not being burned will sometimes drip out of the exhaust. This is totally normal. After the brake in period or first 300 miles you will reduce the mixture to 20:1 which is 6oz of synthetic 2 cycle oil to 1 gal of gas. We do not recommend mixing it in the gas tank. Use a red gallon gas tank and mix it in that and that way it is ready when you need to fill up your tank.

7. How fast do the bikes go?
Speed depends on the bike you get, the kit you get, and how much the rider weighs. The heavier the bike and rider the slower you will go BUT if you upgrade your kit you can get more power and speed. Motorized bikes with basic kits usually start out going about 25 miles per hour. Modified kits can get up to about 50 miles per hour.
8. What makes these bikes better then scooters or mopeds?
Scooters and mopeds can be great but what happens if you break down on the side of the road? They can be extremely heavy to push or you would need to call for a ride. With a Motopsychos505 motorized bike you can just pedal home or quickly fix. Plus Motopsychos505 offers phone support so you can call or text with any questions and we will help you fix it if we can over the phone.
Scooters and mopeds can also be very expensive to fix! Motorized bikes are usually an easy fix and like mentioned above, Motopsychos505 offers phone support and parts for any fixes needed.
Motorized bikes are just as fast or faster if you upgrade your engine and kit and THEY COST LESS than scooters and mopeds!
Mopeds- $1,300 to $3,000
Motopsychos505 motorized bike- $360 to $900
